Look what I found inside today

Secret Santa!

I want to thank my secret Santa that gave me such nice gifts.
I got a knitted winter hat with gloves with no fingers.
That was so thoughtful and nice done.
The colours fits me perfect too.
I will take a picture of me in the hat some day soon.
Then it was a lovely box with cards, envelopes, letters and stickers in.
Thank you so much to the secret Santa.
I wish I knew who you are so I could thank you,
but hopefully you read this post.

The other day I asked Alex what 2+2 was.
He did not understand what I mean.
So I showed him how to hold up two fingers on one hand
and then two fingers on the other hand,
and then told him to count them.
I didn't expect him to get it direct,
but yesterday he hold up 2 fingers on one hand and then two on the other
and then counted it to four.
I hadn't asked him.
I then asked him what 1+1 was,
he counted it to 2.
Then I asked 3+2,
he hold up two fingers on one hand and then three on the other,
but when he was going to count them he had slipped up one more finger,
so it was 3 and 3, and he got it to 6.
But he really got how you do this.
I'm impressed, he's just 4 years old.

Bed time for Alex.
I had finished reading for him and he talked to me like he often does,
if he's not to tired.
He said he was a baby, so I said, ok.
He likes to be that sometimes, so I don't object to that.
I think it's important that he can be that if he wants to.
Often he want his name to be Emil then.
So I said to him, do you remember when Emil was a very little baby and he puked all the time
and drooled a lot too. It's nice he's a bit bigger and don't do that now, I said.
I also said, i remember when you was a baby and puked a lot too.
He then said, I remember when i puked all over the door and I cleaned it all up.
I was a little??? Can he remember when he was a baby?
I then said, when you was a baby I and grandmother (my mother) often took you to the swing,
he then said, I liked that and that he never fell of, he always hold on the swing.
Again I got ????
Then I said, one thing that was nice when you was a baby was that you didn't eat gravel when you was a baby,
like many does.
He then said, I did a few times, it tasted fine.
What do you say.
Can he remeber these things?

The first snow is here.
It was the first thing I saw looking out the window this morning.
I told Alex to come looking, he said, "snö" and smiled.
It's melting away though.

Alex first word!

Yesterday Alex was making a card for Emil.
This one.

After the card is done he tells me what to write on it for him.
However, this time he wanted to write by himself.
This is what he wrote. I spelled it for him.

He first wrote Emil, notice the upside down M.
I know it's a usual thing for kids to do.
Then he wanted to write Alexander.
He wrote A and L, then he noticed the A was upside down
and he got so upset about it.
He wanted to erase it, but it was not that kind of pen you can erase.
I tried to explain that to him, but it didn't help.
Even the suggestion that the A was standing on it's head didn't help.
I think it was smart of him to notice he wrote it wrong.
I was so proud of him.
My 4 year old son.
We do talk about letters and numbers a lot since he loves that.
